Rules

The following rules and regulations of St. Soldier’s have been framed to make the parents aware of what is expected of them and their children during their stay at the School. It is imperative that all the parents should ensure that these are followed in letter and spirit.

Academics

The academic curriculum of the school is split up into two terms. These are: April – September October – March Every Endeavour is made by the school to help children to improve their academic performance and reasonable progress is possible only with the co-operation of children and their parents. A parent should ensure that his child does his homework assigned to him, prepares for various tests and examinations as per the curriculum. School staff is not to be engaged for extra tuition in or outside the school without the prior written permission of the Principal.

General

Parents should not forget to provide their specimen signatures in the school diary. Parents are specially requested to notify the school immediately if there is any change in their address, telephone number, or emergency contact person. When communicating with the Principal, parents are requested to mention in their letter the name, class, and section of their child. Parents are not allowed to meet their children or the teachers, during school hours without the permission of the Principal in the senior wing and Head of the Primary section in the junior wing. Parents are requested not to allow valuables and mobiles to be brought to school. The School does not take responsibility for the loss of any personal property. In case of any accident or emergency or illness during school hours, parents will be informed at once. The school will provide first aid. The school cannot be held responsible for any liabilities if there is a delay in the parent coming to the school. Parents desiring to avail of the school bus should confirm the bus route from the school office. The bus route will not be changed. Bus fare is subject to change. Note: The School does not take responsibility for any private transport. Any quarrel/fights and disputes on the school bus should be reported to the school office. In case a parent seeks to withdraw from the Bus facility they should inform the office well in advance with one month’s notice. Bus fee will be charged for twelve months. Bus facility cannot be availed in the mid-term except for new admissions. The Management is always aware of safety precautions to safeguard the child. At the same time, the Management will at no time be held liable, in case of any unavoidable, or unexplainable accident arising from mala fide behavior of the students in its care or while traveling in the school transport. This applies not only to the school premises but also on the streets, picnics, camps, holiday excursions, etc.

Discipline

Parents are informed that action will be taken
a) after three warnings for arriving late.
b) for not wearing the correct uniform.
c) for not having a remark in the school diary signed by their parents, or not having the receipt of a circular acknowledged by their parents within the stipulated period.

d) for repeatedly forgetting to bring the necessary books to class. If a student is likely to be absent due to illness for a long period, the Principal must be informed as soon as possible. (Parents should inform the school of any recurring or persistent medical problem of their ward). In case of an infectious disease, parents should report the fact to the Principal at once and should not send their ward to class till the danger of infection has passed (This applies mainly to Chickenpox, Measles, Mumps, Whooping Cough, Conjunctivitis). Parents are requested to inform the school if the child is allergic to any medication. Students who have any infectious disease will not be allowed to attend the school unless they bring a doctor’s certificate stating that the period of quarantine is over. Academic Integrity is of paramount importance to a student’s development. In case the child is found to be using unfair means during the examinations/tests, will be liable for punishment, even expulsion from the School. Any student to be exempted from P.T. or games must produce a doctor’s certificate to the effect that he/she is physically unfit to take part therein.

Leave Rules

Leave of absence is not granted except for serious reasons and only on a previous written application of parents or guardians. A fine of Rs. 5/- per day will be charged, for absence without leave on regular working days and Rs. 20/- on working Saturdays. In the case of illness, where the application cannot be sent in advance, the office should be informed by telephone. An application for leave may send the next day. Normally, leave for purely social purposes is not granted. Leave of absence will not ordinarily be granted on the first and the last day of each term or of any vacation. Students who leave without due notice or keep away from school, for over a week, offering no explanation for their absence, will be struck off the rolls. They may be re-admitted only on payment of the admission fee. School attendance of every student during the Annual Day’s preparation and the Unit’s and Term-end examinations is mandatory. During this period no leave will be granted. Strict action will be taken against those who absent themselves from school during this time without permission.

Withdrawal

Parent who wish to withdraw their ward should notify the Principal in writing, at least one calendar month prior to the withdrawal of the ward otherwise one month’s fee in lieu of the notice, will be charged.
The school management reserves the right to change, amend, add or delete any of the above-mentioned rules and regulations at any time without prior notice.
